Bleu Restaurant + Lounge

If you're looking for a dining experience that feels upscale yet inviting, Bleu is a must. Known for its creative twists on classic French cuisine, Bleu has a menu that screams, "Treat yourself." The warm, elegant atmosphere makes it ideal for an intimate date night. Don’t miss their goat cheese curds, lobster roll, or steak options paired with a cocktail or something from their extensive wine list. I HIGHLY recommend the Bleu Mojito (pictured left); it’s one of my all-time favorite cocktails to get in Green Bay. The mixed berries in this mojito give it a rich, vibrant color and flavor that can’t be beaten.

The staff is kind and courteous and will cater to your every need. The design of the space is tasteful and well thought-out. Drury Designs did excellent work in renovating the space. The building used to be the Reedsville Granary and was moved piece by piece to its current location in 2006, when it was transformed into this exemplary restaurant. Bleu is also one of our go-to recommendations for event catering. We previously hosted a VIP dinner in their upstairs space, and it was an impeccable experience. Reservations are recommended.

Chives

Located just outside Green Bay in Suamico, Chives is the epitome of cozy sophistication. This farm-to-table gem is celebrated for its fresh, locally sourced ingredients and imaginative dishes. Chives is housed in a historic building in Vickery Village, a quaint preservation of yesteryear just north of Green Bay. Excuse me for name-dropping, but it was well-known in the Green Bay community that Chives was Aaron Rodgers’ favorite restaurant in the area when he played for the Packers. Regardless of your opinion of Mr. Rodgers, I think we can agree that he has wonderful taste in restaurants!

My husband adores the filet topped with the bleu cheese butter. My usual order is the steak fritte (the fries are addictive, as is the mixed greens salad), but I would be remiss if I didn’t also recommend the oysters, chicken and goat cheese wontons, and butternut squash ravioli. They have a great wine list, but their cocktails are a siren song I can’t ignore. Their Lemon Drop martini has been on their menu for decades – I may or may not remember having a taste of my aunt’s Lemon Drop for the first time when I was about 16 years old…I won’t tell you how old I am now, but the decades statement is accurate! Be sure to check out their seasonal cocktails as well.

The staff is lovely and charming, many of them being long-time staples of the Chives crew. The current owner, Logan, started working at Chives when he was in high school and worked his way up to general manager before purchasing the restaurant with his parents from the original owner. Many other Chives team members have similar stories of longevity, making it all the warmer to walk in and see so many familiar faces.

Chives holds a special place in my heart. Not only have we celebrated many birthdays here, but the physical photo studio location I operated from 2019-2024 was also in Vickery Village. The village is a true treasure in Suamico and the Green Bay area.

Reservations are recommended. Not guaranteed that you’ll get to step behind the bar like I did for the photo to the right.

Hinterland Brewery

For a more laid-back yet sublime vibe, Hinterland Brewery is the spot. This modern, industrial-chic brewpub offers incredible craft beer alongside a menu that’s as impressive as its drinks. Located in the heart of the Titletown District, in the shadow of Lambeau Field, this locally owned gem blends bold, creative cuisine with an impressive lineup of craft beers—all served up in a modern yet inviting space.

Hinterland’s story began in 1995 when founders Bill and Michelle Tressler decided to bring world-class beer and food to Green Bay. What started as a small operation in a turn-of-the-century meat-packing warehouse has grown into a destination brewery and restaurant, drawing foodies and beer lovers alike. Their commitment to quality and innovation has put Hinterland on the map as one of Wisconsin’s premier craft breweries and dining spots. I had the pleasure of working at Hinterland during their transition from their storied downtown location to their current iconic home. I can attest to the commitment Michelle and Bill have to standing out with integrity and purpose, and they’re not afraid to work hard and stand up for what they believe in.

At Hinterland, the focus is on fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients. Their menu changes with the seasons, ensuring every dish is packed with the best flavors Wisconsin has to offer. Whether you’re in the mood for a perfectly seared steak, a gourmet Waygu burger (it’s legendary), or their famous wood-fired pizzas, you can count on top-tier quality and creative twists on classic dishes. Don’t miss their “theme nights” or specialty dinners. At the time of writing, we’re in the thick of winter, and Hinterland is serving up Ramen Night on Tuesdays. Yum!

Of course, no visit to Hinterland is complete without trying their handcrafted beers. From hop-forward IPAs to smooth lagers and complex barrel-aged stouts, their brews cater to every palate. They’ve always brewed delicious beers, but the past few years have seen a transformation that’s been cutting edge and exciting. Their wine list and cocktail creations are noteworthy as well. One move that makes a quality restaurant stand out in my book is when the beverage program is consistent across the board, with no one area being weaker or stronger than the other. You don’t have to be a beer lover to enjoy your time at Hinterland.

The Titletown District gets a little crazy for Packers home games, but if you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop down at Hinterland and take your tailgating to the next level.

When it comes to superb dining with a creative twist, Iron Duck in Green Bay delivers in every way. They’ve gained a reputation for bold flavors, top-tier ingredients, and expertly crafted cocktails, making it a must-visit for food lovers in the area. Iron Duck is the vision of Caleb Suda, Adam Huebscher, and their team, who set out to create a restaurant that combines refined culinary techniques with a homey atmosphere. I had the pleasure of working with Caleb at another restaurant in the area when he was a wee lad still in high school; it’s been so exciting to follow his culinary journey and see him flourish in this space.

The menu at Iron Duck is a perfect blend of comfort food with an upscale slant. To start your evening, I recommend the duck tacos or bone marrow as your appetizers. They switch up the entrees a few times a year, but you can’t go wrong with any of the selections. There’s always something new to try.

No visit to Iron Duck is complete without sampling their expertly crafted cocktails. The drink menu showcases unique takes on classic cocktails, and one of the standout favorites is the Post Modern Margarita (pictured left) —a fresh, modern spin on the beloved classic. Even better? It’s half-off on Wednesdays, making midweek the perfect time to stop in and sip on something spectacular (and slightly dangerous – they go down VERY smoothly).

Reservations are recommended.

Mangiare

When top-notch Italian food is calling, Mangiare is the answer. This charming downtown eatery brings the flavors of Italy to Wisconsin with expertly crafted dishes, top-quality ingredients, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit feel special.

Mangiare is the brainchild of longtime restaurateurs (Mangiare’s sister restaurant, Republic Chophouse, has been wowing diners in Green Bay since 2008) with a deep love for traditional Italian cooking. With a menu inspired by old-world recipes and a modern approach to hospitality, Mangiare has quickly earned a reputation as one of Green Bay’s best dining destinations.

At Mangiare, every dish is a celebration of bold flavors and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether it’s imported cheeses, hand-selected seafood, or house-made pasta, you’ll be wowed by every bite. I can’t get enough of their chicken and pesto gnocchi (pictured right), and their desserts are the cherry on top of a great experience.

No Italian meal is complete without the perfect drink, and Mangiare delivers with an exceptional cocktail list. Don't miss their Limoncello Cosmo, a refreshing twist on an Italian favorite!

Mangiare isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a culinary escape to Italy, right in the heart of Green Bay. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, enjoying a romantic night out, or simply craving authentic Italian flavors, Mangiare is a must-visit. Trust me, it’s amore at first bite.

Orsetta Craft Kitchen + Bar

If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in the Green Bay area, chef-owned Orsetta in DePere should be at the top of your list. This newcomer to the local food scene has already built a reputation for its incredible pizzas, delicious entrées, and warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Orsetta is the creation of Kelly Qualley, a passionate restaurateur with a commitment to high-quality ingredients and expertly crafted dishes. The menu is a perfect blend of Italian tradition and modern flavors, featuring artisan sourdough pizzas with crispy, flavorful crusts and enticing entrées that highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients. The beef carpaccio is a dish I often dream about, one that Kelly brought with him from his previous role.

Pizza lovers will appreciate creations like the Hot Honey Pepperoni (my personal favorite) as well as the modern twists on classics, like Orsetta’s Brooklyn Supreme. Beyond pizza, the handmade pastas and expertly prepared entrees ensure there’s something for every palate.

And let’s talk about the drinks—Orsetta boasts a well-curated wine list that perfectly complements their dishes, plus an inventive cocktail menu that can’t be missed. Whether you’re sipping on a bold red wine or enjoying a handcrafted spritz, the beverage selection elevates the dining experience.

With its inviting atmosphere, dedication to top-notch ingredients, and standout menu, Orsetta is quickly becoming one of Green Bay’s best dining destinations. Whether you’re in the mood for pizza, a full feast, or just great drinks with friends, this is one spot you won’t want to miss. Bonus: Their location is great for an after-dinner stroll along the Fox River.

Republic Chophouse

When it comes to steakhouses in the Green Bay area, Republic Chophouse reigns supreme. This high-end and welcoming spot has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional dining experiences thanks to its commitment to high-quality ingredients, impeccable service, and a well-curated drink menu.

Republic Chophouse has been a staple in Green Bay’s fine dining scene for years, offering a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere perfect for date nights, celebrations, and business dinners alike. The restaurant is locally owned, with a dedication to providing top-tier steaks, seafood, and reimagined American classics. Their philosophy? Only the best makes it to your plate.

What sets Republic apart is their insistence on quality over everything. Their steaks are hand-cut, USDA Prime, and aged to perfection. They source only the freshest seafood, and their sides and sauces are made in-house for an unrivaled depth of flavor. Be sure to get a side of the truffle fries with whatever you order. If you’re a steak lover, the Bone-In Ribeye or the New York Strip are absolute musts. Prefer something from the sea? The Chilean Sea Bass is buttery, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And don’t sleep on their Mac & Cheese—it’s decadent, rich, and pairs perfectly with just about anything. Also worth noting, their oysters are fresh and some of the best you can get in the area. Be sure to end your meal with one of their desserts; the cake slices are roughly the size of your head!

Republic Chophouse isn’t just about the food—their drink selection is top-notch, too. Their wine list is extensive, featuring bold reds and crisp whites to complement every dish. If cocktails are more your style, try the Republic Old Fashioned, a refined take on Wisconsin’s favorite drink. And for whiskey lovers, their selection is second to none.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just craving a perfectly cooked steak, Republic Chophouse delivers every time. It’s a must-visit for food lovers in Green Bay—and once you go, you’ll see why it’s a city favorite.

Taverne In The Sky

For an elevated dining experience—literally and figuratively—Taverne in the Sky at Lodge Kohler in Green Bay is high on our list. Perched across from the legendary Lambeau Field, this upscale restaurant offers stunning rooftop views, top-tier cuisine, and a cocktail menu that will impress even the most seasoned connoisseurs.

Lodge Kohler, the luxurious boutique hotel owned by Kohler Co., opened in 2017 as part of the Titletown District development. Since then, Taverne in the Sky has solidified itself as one of Green Bay’s finest dining destinations, combining impeccable service with a menu that highlights high-quality ingredients and expertly crafted dishes.

I’m a fan of all things “raw”, so I often start my meal with either the steak tartare, oysters, or tuna tartare. Their steak and seafood offerings are divine, and be sure to add the truffle butter to everything. Taverne in the Sky takes sourcing seriously, ensuring that every dish is crafted with the finest ingredients available.

But let’s talk drinks because their cocktail list is as impressive as their food. Whether you're sipping on a perfectly balanced classic cocktail, or one of their seasonal specialty cocktails, each drink is crafted with precision and creativity. Their wine selection is equally robust, featuring a curated list of reds, whites, and sparkling wines from around the world.

With its unbeatable views, refined atmosphere, and dedication to exceptional food and drinks, Taverne in the Sky is a standout in Green Bay’s fine dining scene while also being hospitable enough that you would feel welcome just wandering up for a drink after one of the Titletown Night Markets or other events in the area.

Three Three Five

Three Three Five offers one of the hottest, most elusive tickets in town. Tucked away in a sleek, modern space on Broadway in Green Bay, this exclusive restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Chris Mangless, a culinary visionary known for his commitment to top-tier ingredients and innovative flavors.

Originally conceived as a private dining venue, Three Three Five has earned a reputation for its innovative, ever-evolving menus that highlight the best of locally sourced and globally inspired ingredients. Whether it’s a perfectly seared scallop, a farm-fresh vegetable dish, or an artistically plated entrée, every bite is crafted with precision and passion.

Beyond its outstanding food, Three Three Five is also known for its impressive drink selection, featuring craft cocktails, fine wines, and unique pairings that complement each dish. The bar program is as creative as the kitchen, ensuring a well-rounded experience from start to finish.

One of the most unique aspects of Three Three Five is its private dinners and special events. The space is typically open to the public only on select nights, making their exclusive dining experiences all the more sought after. From intimate chef’s table dinners to special guest chef collaborations, every event is a one-of-a-kind gastronomic adventure. If you’re able to get on the list for one of their incredible wine dinners with some of the best vintners in the country, be sure to do so. The musical acts they bring in for their intimate dinner and music series shouldn’t be missed.

For those looking to indulge in an unforgettable meal that combines artistry, flavor, and top-tier hospitality, Three Three Five is a must-visit. Just be sure to plan ahead—this hidden gem fills up fast!
